Okay, so here we are at the final stretch of our three part series on starting an all-natural lifestyle! For this last section, I’m going to focus on my final top simple, simple, simple ways that everyone can enact environmental, healthy change into their lifestyle. Let’s get started…
1. Re-purpose As Much As You Can: Save and re-use scrap paper, jars, cans, paper towel rolls, you name it! With little ones at home, I have to say that I re-purpose everything from ketchup bottles to diaper boxes. So many items can turn into terrific craft pieces, fun activity projects or even makeshift paint color palettes (think yogurt containers or egg cartons!). I don’t want to encourage hoarding, but before you toss that next plastic, glass, paper or cardboard item (into the garbage or recycling) think if you can re-use it yourself one more time!
2. Natural Light Before Bulb: If it’s a sunny day out, why not open those drapes, blinds, curtains before flicking on that light switch. If you can use natural, free (cha-ching $$) light before turning over that electrical switch, then “power to ya!” 😉
3. Support Local Farmer’s Markets: By purchasing locally grown, crafted or manufactured goods, you are not only supporting the growth of your local economy but additionally, you’re helping the environment by purchasing locally-sourced products (that means decreased travel emissions, shipping packaging, etc). Supporting local farmer’s markets also helps you and the family (even Fido) get out and about and interacting with others in your immediate community who are also pursuing natural living.
For local Arizona followers, here are two terrific local valley markets to check out:

4. Plan Before You Drive: How about making one grocery trip for the week, instead of several? Or what about planning out your driving route so that it includes all of your weekly errands in one consolidated route. Making such a plan (instead of racing about town day after day burning through your gas and ticking up your car’s mileage) will save you money, time and your sanity!
5. Turn Your Laundry Green: When it comes to the washer, utilize cold water whenever possible. As for dryer, cut back on your gas or electricity usage by line-drying your clothing and linens.
So there you have it folks, I’ve given you 3 VERY simple blogs that will allow everyone to turn their home and habits to a lovely shade of green. Moving forward, I bet you’ll find that these little steps inspire you learn more about how you can continue to progress in your green, all-natural lifestyle.
