An Original SheMeansGreen Beauty Beat…

“Exfoliation is considered by most skin experts to be the key element of glowing, healthy, youthful skin.  By sloughing dead skin
cells away, you are not only revealing newer, healthy skin but additionally, you are stimulating blood circulation and collagen-growth which aid in the preservation of your youthful appearance.

Many women have made exfoliation a routine part of their daily facial care, but it’s also important to sustain a youthful appearance in other key areas of the body such as the neck, chest, elbows, knees, feet and shoulder regions.  An easy way to do so is by utilizing a natural body scrub in the shower or bath. One of the best exfoliation agents for the body is sugar.  Not only is sugar a terrific scrubbing agent but it’s also not as drying as other salt-based scrubs on the market.

However, with so many sugar scrubs out there, it’s hard to tell which ones are worthwhile.  Again, it is key to find an all-natural sugar-based scrub that does not contain artificial ingredients or fragrances.  If you’re an aromatherapy junkie like me, all-natural sugar scrubs will smell just as delicious (actually more delicious) than those commercial versions laced with fragrance and artificial ingredients.  As far as recommendations go, I will easily recommend, G.B. Proudfoot’s Lemon & Honey Sugar Scrub http://bit.ly/oXdTuX.  At $10.99 for 8 oz., it is not only a bargain among all-natural products but additionally, the scrub, itself, is fabulous.  I loved the moisturizing agents of the virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil and honey.  Also, I can’t tell you how amazing the granules of sugar are!  They actually let you get a good scrub on before they disappear into the water.  Your skin will look fabulous immediately and you’ll notice a moisture barrier right off the bat as you’ll see beads of water on your skin where the oils have softened your skin.

Now, when it gets down to it, just remember that when applying any sugar scrub, that it is key to get your skin wet prior to application.  Make sure you apply the scrub in small, circulation motions targeting those important areas I mentioned above (again, the neck, chest, elbows, knees, feet and shoulders).

Now happy scrubbing your way to beautiful skin!
